lima day 2 tour and walk to the beach
These photos are just a taste of our tour around the city we went to the main square of lima and went to the churchs, museum, parliment, and some underground tombs. This was all very interesting, lots of culture. As we write this blog we are in our motel watching some traditional lima music and dancing. Everywhere in the city there is police and security on every corner and water cannons in the main square incase of a fight. There is no trains or subway so the way of life is to taxi and bus around or use your own car to park in the street is to ask for your car to be stolen every car has alarm and most cars are really crap and old. The busess are so old and so are the taxis this is probably a good thing concidering they drive so bloddy crazy the pedesrian crossing is a sure fast way to get yourself killed. The cars don't stop so we were wondering why do they even bother with the crossings at all.
They still smoke inside. The place we are staying in is the hilton in the district of miraflories, each suburb is a district each district has its own town center and around the center is the square for the people like a garden, a church, parliment, and a town hall. The disricts are classified as to how poor they are low low-medium, medium-high and high-medium, high isn't very high but we are in high-medium, our tour guide seem to think this was good.... We had lunch looking over the pacific ocean. from the town looking over the water there is a 2 hundred meter drop down to the water front. We walked down to the water only once as when you go down you have to go back up, we both felt alittle funny once we got down to the water, like our bodies were shaking. The beach is very different to what we are use to i wouldnt liked to get dumped on here as it is all pebbles not small ones either.
Tomorrow we leave lima to go to cuzco and to machu pitchu the lost city of the inca.................
lots of love rob and jus xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
