Robspot

Hi All,
Just a quick note to let you all know that Rob is here and having a great time aswell. Jus has been doing most of the blog and email stuff lately so I thought I would put a few up myself.

Everything has been going very well, we have seen so many amazing and eye opening things and we have only just begun.

We both miss home of course and writing the blog seems to make you think of it more. I miss Aust aswell, it really is a great place and not many people speak Spanish back home.
The lanugae barrier really does make you feel....well....stupid! We have encountered people that can speak upwards of 4 lauguages. Pretty cool. They just do it so easily! I guess thats what you get for growing up in a country surrounded by water, physically cutoff....thanks a lot Captian Cook!

Any hope this little blurb lets you all know that the 'nson' half of Clarkenson is still functioning, ok :)

Love to all,
RobW

Rio, Church and Mount Sugar loaf

Here are some photos of a church we visited in the city...can't think of anything interesting about it. But it was nice.

Mount Sugar loaf (Just like that in the Hunter Valley) was very impressive. We roade the cable cars up the mountain and again had a great view of the city and bay.

Rio, Christ the redemmer!!

Thats right...we went up to that big old Jesus staute. It was very cool. About 30m high and 28m from finger tip to finger tip.

Nice view of the city aswell. The name "Rio de Janerio" was given for two reasosn. One, beacuse of the large bay it sits around, when the Spanish found it they thought the bay was a delta, so Rio = Spanish for River! "de Janerio" comes from the fact that they found it on the 1st of January! Cool huh!

The city also sits in the largest "Urban" jungle in the world. Very nice to have mountains, jungle, ocean and beaches all in one city!

Iguazu falls...(Argentine Side)

Now this section of the falls in a little less about power, and a little more about pretty photos.

How cool are the Tucans

Iguazu falls...(Argentine Side) + Tucan!

Now...here some pics of the Argentine side of the falls, specifically the 'DEVILS THROAT" !!!! Basically this is the most intense section of the falls. Power is really amazing and a plume of moisture rises constantly from here and from a distance looks like smoke!

I forgot to mention before that approx 1.2 million litres of water past over the falls every minute! Not bad.

Iguazu falls...(Brazil Side)

Here are some pics of the Falls. These falls are the longest in the world, around 3kms of falls in total. The river that creates the falls forms the border between Argentina and Brazil.
The majority of the falls are on the Argentine side, however the Brazilian side offers a nice overall view of the falls.

Final Buenos Aires pics

Hi all....some final photos for the Argentine leg of the journey!!!

WE have arrived in argintina, buenos aires,we have been on two tours a city tour and a out of city tour down tigre delta river. We have named the city the city of the monument, every were you look there is a statue, park and statue every where deticated to all different poeple mostly people who helped in making argintina an independant country. Not a lot on evita ther is a couple of statues and a tour specially dedicated to her.We have done lots more little trips out at night. although our tour guide told use the areas not to go to after 5pm and not to were jewlery, bags and not to carry our passports Buenos aries really reminds us of being in the sydney city all though not as many new high risers and lots more old buildings beautiful oh and the spanish thats a minor difference, we have had some funny incounters with the language but were getting there we know how to say chicken so at least we can eat pollo, boy will we be sick of pollo when were ou of here!!!!!!!

We spent the fist day with a tour the guys name was darwin he had written some books on the incas and machu picchu, so this was great cause we learnt so much from him and then were to go on the second day we had to pay for the second day but it was so worth while we got up really early and went on one of the famous inca trails to the top of waynchu picchu (little brother mountian) well the walk is out of this world so steep and so long but once you get to the top it is so worth it. the if that wasnt enough we decided to go down the other side to the moon temple or the great cave and explore that as well the back around over the hychu picchu and finally back to machu picchu. we were so tired after all that and felt we had down some sort of hugh accivement....
then today we spent the day in cuzc it is a nice place lots of herritage. but lots and lots of beggas and soforth no one lets tourest just wonder around like in australia they are in your face trying to sell you something or just give them money eat at there resturant go on there tour get in there taxi as you can see it really got to me and rob so by the end of the day we were really gladd to be flying out at one stage rob told one young girl to "andelay" like she was speedy gonzallis is this even a spanish word we dont know anymore casue rob left our language book on one of our flights anyway it was the funniest thing i have heared in ages i am still giggling
